Gay kneipen hamburg

After spending a VERY intense week celebrating Pride in Berlin, we only had a few days to recover before it was time to do it all over again for Hamburg Lgbtq+ Pride!

Prior to our visit, we knew absolutely nothing about Hamburg, let alone what to anticipate from ‘gay Hamburg’. We didn’t know Hamburg is actually the second largest city in Germany, after Berlin. Nightlife

Hamburg’s friendly, unlock vibe has made the city a favourite destination for LGBTQIA+ visitors. The local scene is most lively in the quarters St. Georg and St. Pauli where you’ll locate plenty of gay-friendly locations. Below we've given you a head start with some of our favourite LGBTQIA+ spots in Hamburg.

St. Georg

Located next to Central Station, St. Georg is an excellent place to kickoff your Hamburg excursion. The quarter’s centre of the action is Lange Reihe, along which you'll discover loud and proud queer bars next to cosy cafés, restaurants and shops flying the rainbow flag. For delectable home-made cakes in a chic interior, call on Café Gnosa. A couple of doors down, you'll find Cafe Uhrlaub, where you can drop in for German-style breakfasts and hot meals any second of day. Order a gin & tonic in a cosy booth at M&V Bar, or proceed for cocktails in the dimly-lit setting of Kyti Voo. Along Danziger Straße, you'll find literature, clothing and erotic paraphernalia at Bruno’s and good business in Bellini Bar.

The settlement history of Hamburg began with the Saxons in the 4th century BC. In the 9th century a castle named Hammaburg was built in this place, from which the mention Hamburg derived.
