Throb Nightclub has been placed into liquidation after the venue's directors on Wednesday voted to wind the company up and appoint Adelaide-based firm Tarquin Koch Accounting and Insolvency Services as liquidator.
The Northern Area government had lock down the nightclub in September last year because the Manolas building on Smith Street was deemed to be unsafe.
Liquidator Tarquin Koch told Daily Mail Australia this had stopped Throb Nightclub from trading.
'A business that can't trade is a business that's going to fail,' he said.

Long-running Darwin queer nightclub Throb has been forced to close after more than 20 years due to building issues.
Throb shut its doors on September 7 after the building housing the club, as adequately as a restaurant and cafe, received an emergency order from authorities.
The Northern Territorys Building Control issued the order last month. Authorities identified fire and safety hazards as adequately as unauthorised building works including the removal of walls, the NT News reported.
A message on the Throb Nightclub Facebook page announced the long-running nightclubs closure until further notice.
The team explained in the post the emergency direct stemmed from the removal of a supporting wall in the tenancy below ours.
Throb owner Tim Palmer told the NT News at the time he agreed with the Building Control decision and said the hazards could possess resulted in a catastrophic and life-threatening situation.
