The Male lover Easter Parade started in in New Orleans as a pleasurable way to showcase the fashion and creativity of the entire LGBT community “with ladies in gowns or summer suits with Easter Hats and gentlemen in summer suits or tuxedos.” It’s meant to be a playfulness cultural event the whole family can attend regardless of whether or not you identify as LGBT.

Easter in Unused Orleans marks the end of Lent and falls during spring, the most beautiful season of the year to be in the Crescent City. With a large Christian population, Easter is an especially crucial day in the vibrant city of New Orleans. However, like many other religious holidays in the Crescent Municipality, Easter draws a great deal of secular celebration as well. Each year, the French Quarter blossoms with gorgeous bonnets and seersucker suits as Fresh Orleanians of all beliefs hit the streets to adore the weather. Attend an Easter Parade

The French Quarter hosts several delightful parades on Easter Sunday. The most traditional of these parades is the Historic French Quarter Easter Parade. This Fresh Orleans attraction begins at Antoine’s Restaurant at AM, then makes its way to the towering St. Louis Cathedral for 11 AM Mass. The 24th Annual Official Queer Easter Parade is ready to roll Easter Sunday at p.m.

The 24th Annual Official Gay Easter Parade is scheduled to roll Easter Sunday, April 20 at pm.  The parade will consist of numerous carriages, walking groups and convertibles. 

The Gay Easter Parade started in in New Orleans as a fun way to showcase the fashion and creativity of the entire LGBTQ+ community with ladies in gowns or summer suits with Easter Hats and gentlemen in summer suits or tuxedos. It’s meant to be a fun cultural event the whole family can attend regardless of whether or not you spot as LGBTQ+.

The annual celebration is a fundraising event for Food for Friends, a division of CrescentCare.  Since the parade has raised $, for Food for Friends.

Our concluding two fundraisers are swift approaching. The Marsha Delain Purple Party is Saturday, April 12 at Crossing ( Dauphine Street) from 7 to 9 pm. Cover is $20 and includes food, auction items a drag show and more! Our final fundraiser of the Easter Season is Bunnies in the Big Easy and will be held on Excellent Friday, April 18 at p
